Waves
Four Tumo members and project leader Shushan Droshakiryan spent an intensive month working on the Waves stop motion animation. Using paper cut outs, hand-painted backdrops, creative lighting and a stop-motion camera, they made a short film that tells a story about a young boy's summer in Huntington Beach, when he worked odd jobs to save money for a surfboard. The biographical story is narrated by Saro Paparian, a member of the Tumo music team.

Waves provides a nostalgic glimpse or childhood desires based on Paparian's narrative and underlined by contrast, subtle colors, an unhurried rhythm and soft music. The father and son relationship at the center of the story constitutes a poetic sensibility that the students tried to reflect in visuals and sound.
