About TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.

Tumo is the official partner of the TEDxKids@Yerevan event, which takes place every year on June 1, on International Children's Day, at Tumo.

Inspired by the world-renowned TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) conference, TEDxKids@Yerevan is a day-long exchange of ideas amongst a selection of  Tumo students and other bright children from all over Armenia. Leading up to the event, presenters from Tumo are selected by means of an open essay competition. Then, the TEDxYerevan team selects the final speakers, trains, and prepares them for their final presentations.

International Children's Day 2012 (June 1) marked TEDxKids@Yerevan's first year, bringing 22 presenters—15 of whom were Tumo students—between the ages of 10 and 18 to the Tumo campus. Watch the children's presentations here.
