Uneducated Democracy Music Video

About Tankian's Harakiri

Harakiri, Tankian's third solo album, was released on July 10, 2012 on Reprise/Serjical Strike Records and is the follow-up to 2010's critically acclaimed Imperfect Harmonies.

As with 2007's Elect the Dead and Imperfect Harmonies, Tankian produced Harakiri himself at his home studio in Los Angeles. He explained that his approach to the writing process was different this time around, using Apple's iPad "as a songwriting instrument to sketch out three of the songs on the record." Read more >>

In June 2012, 17-year-old Angela Manukyan's essay on "uneducated democracy" was chosen from a pool of submissions by Tumo students to be the basis for her conception of a music video for rock musician and Tumo board member Serj Tankian's song of the same title. Angela was joined by 13 other Tumo student animators, editors, camera operators and artists to produce the video over the course of three weeks.

The video was released on Alternative Press Magazine's website on July 18, 2012.
