Tumo's First Anniversary!

Tumo celebrated its first anniversary on August 14, 2012. Nearly 3,000 teenagers flooded Tumo Plaza for a group photo. Tumo students marked the end of summer and the 2nd anniversary of the center with a fun-filled night of music, movies and games.

The festivities kicked off at Tumo Dilijan on August 14, with special musical and dance performances, as well as an outdoor party featuring a live DJ.

On August 16 celebrations carried over to Yerevan, as students gathered inside Tumo for interactive games, workshop exhibits, a 3D film screening, and an innovative musical performance by Tumo students featuring Arik Grigoryan from the folk-rock band Bambir.

DJ Joseph Zakarian capped off the night with a three hour musical mix outside on the Tumo Plaza, providing sounds to elevate the audience.

His set was accompanied by the unfurling of 7-meter high paper sculptures made by Tumo students hung off the roof of the center. A video of the creative process behind making the sculptures was projected during the unveiling.

Various other surprises and special showcases were also featured to send off the summer in proper fashion.

Tumo officially goes on recess from August 19 to September 1. Regular sessions will resume on September 9.
