Digital Art Practices

About Kamee Abrahamian

Kamee Abrahamian is a digital artist working with film, photography and other digital media. She is based in Armenia where she spends most of her time when she is not travelling for work or study. Kamee is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Switzerland, concentrating on the use of digital media in expressive art therapy and education.

The workshop explored a multitude of digital art practices. Each participant experimented with stop motion, digital collaging, animation, gif-making, and sound collaging. The flexible learning environment encouraged students to either concentrate on one discipline or sample a little bit of each of the areas offered, according to what suited their needs best. Some of the themes they focused on was memory, history, time, creativity, and dreams.

The workshop structure allowed for individual work as well as group work, however the final project was collaborative. The final project brought together all the skills they practiced while working on their mini projects - they worked individually to create a plethora of pieces that was later combined in the format of an animated mural and soundtrack with support from some of our more advanced Tumo students. At the end of the workshop, the participants presented their work in the open space outside Tumo building by displaying their work on iPads and explaining the process and themes of their work to public.
