The workshop, led by artist Vasken Brudian, began with a series of lectures introducing students to design theory and compositional principles. The group then went on photography excursions throughout Yerevan to take photos that would serve as the foundation for personal collages. They modified and refined their images using in professional design applications.

Connecting with the city and its aura was an important element of the project. The students experimented with ways of digitally presenting its landscape in an exciting, creative format.

The five week workshop culminated with the Textures of Yerevan exhibition which displayed the students’ distinct pieces on special LED screens affixed to the floor of Tumo’s installation area. Participants, parents and members of the public were on hand to view the exhibit.
