About XO laptops

The XO laptop is durable, functional, energy-efficient, responsive, and fun.

The XO is about the size of a textbook and lighter than a lunchbox. Thanks to its flexible design and "transformer" hinge, the laptop easily assumes any of several configurations: standard laptop use, e-book reading, and gaming. It has rounded edges, an integrated kid-sized handle, and (in most cases) a sealed, rubber-membrane keyboard.

The XO is also designed for constant connectivity. A few children working together under a tree can connect to eachother without any other hardware, and a class full of students can share collaborative activities with one another and see what their classmates are doing. Read more >>

NUR is an initiative of Eduardo Eurnekian’s Fruitfull Armenia Fund which is deploying the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) program in Nagorno Karabakh. The program aims to provide students low cost, low power, connected laptops equipped with advanced educational software. NUR commissioned Tumo students to produce 11 promotional videos that would convey the possibilities afforded by the program's XO laptop. Tumo staff members Francisco Varvaro and Mariam Poghosyan led a team of 14 Tumo students over the course of two months to design, film and edit 10 videos themed after XO's five functions: playing, learning, creating, communicating and achieving.
