World Press Photo award-winning photojournalist and Tumo workshop leader Eric Grigorian documented chess grandmaster Levon Aronian for an assignment for Brownbook Magazine, an urban lifestyle magazine focusing on design, culture, travel and offbeat culture across the Middle East and North Africa. Grigorian

depicted Aronian's day to day life by photographing him at home or socializing with amatreur chess players at the Chess House in Yerevan. The documentary article brought a taste of Armenian culture to the Middle Eastern magazine.

 

Grigorian has led a number of workshops and projects at Tumo, including the recent Tumography competition. He shares his extensive experience in working as a photographer with students who take part in his projects providing them with ongoing support.

 

Eric received the World Press Photo of the Year in 2002 and regularly collaborates with Time, Newsweek, US News, The New York Times and a number of European news magazines.
