India in My Imagination Competition Winners Are Announced

Yesterday, the winners of the India in My Imagination essay and drawing competition were announced at an award ceremony at the Armenia Marriot Hotel. The competition was organized by the Embassy of India in Armenia, the Ministry of Education of Armenia and the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies. The aim of the competition was to increase knowledge about India among students in Armenia.

 

The ceremony began with a welcoming speech from the Indian Ambassador to Armenia Dr. T. Suresh Babu, in which he thanked all guests and emphasized the importance of the competition for intercultural relations between Armenia and India. Minister of Education Armen Ashotyan noted that this event increased knowledge about India among Armenian students, and expressed his hope that a similar competition with an Armenian theme will be held in India in the future.

 

The winners were announced by Tumo's Director Marie Lou Papazian.

 

The first place essay winners were Nane Petrsoyan, and Victoria Tosrosyan, and the first place drawing winners were Siranush Mkhitaryan and Alvard Baghdasaryan. Each of them won a 7 day trip to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.

 

Second place winners were Albert Avetisyan and Mane Tumanyan for their essays, and Lilit Melkonyan, and Nane Minasyan for their drawings. All second place winners received tablet computers. Third place winners were Gor Atoyan, Armine Sargsyan for their essays, and Alvard Khimoyan and David Sahakyan for their drawings. All third place winners received mobile phones.

 

Lilya Gishchyan and Sona Hovhannisyan also won a special prize for their entries.
