A month long workshop entitled "Engineering the Mind and Body" will begin on July 1. Software engineer and martial arts enthusiast Rouben Meschian will be leading a workshop which will better connect the mind and body through kicking, punching and coding. As the saying goes, "a strong body makes the mind strong", and in this case students will train for a strong mind for coding.

Tumo students will learn to build web applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and will also take part in rigorous Muay Thai training, a combat sport from Thailand which combines the use of fists, elbows, knees and shins.

All participants will dive deep into software engineering while training their bodies in the martial arts sessions.

Rouben has been working in the software industry for over ten years and has trained in a variety of disciplines including Kenpo Karate, in which he holds a black belt, and Muay Thai.
