An exciting two week workshop combining computer science and motion graphics will be taking place this summer at Tumo. Baltimore based student Rachael Birky will be coming to Tumo on June 1 to teach a workshop entitled "Ideas in Motion".

Rachael is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in Animation and Interactive Media. She has interned at renowned DreamWorks Animation and the University of Maryland's Imaging Research Center. She will be sharing her experience with Tumo students in producing motion graphics for broadcast media using computer programming.

Participants in the "Ideas in Motion" workshop will explore the world of motion graphics using Adobe After Effects. They will learn about basic asset creation and manipulation, image compositing, effects, text animation, key framing, motion curves, and many other methods in motion graphics.

Workshop participants will have an opportunity to create their own videos. They will learn skills which they will then be able to apply not only to broadcast media, but to online media, web design, app design and character animation.

This one-off workshop is open to all Tumo students. See Rachael's interactive invitation to the workshop here
