For the first time, an animation produced at Tumo will be screened in a film festival abroad. "Exquisite Brain" was created as part of a guest animation workshop with award winning animator, director and educator Gary Schwartz. It is the only film from Armenia in the 6th International Children and Youth Animation Film Festival which will take place in Varaždin, Croatia.

"Exquisite Brain" was the product of a three week workshop during which 18 beginner and intermediate level students learned about cycles and metamorphosis in animation and developed animated sequences from each other's drawings.

"How is a thought born?" and "what leads to the creation of an idea?" are some of the questions which students considered when working on their animation. They then experimented with self-expression and let their imagination and creativity flourish resulting in a short film focusing on the concept of the cycle of thoughts and the brain.

Over 336 films from 42 countries were submitted to the festival, and "Exquisite Brain" was one of 35 selected for the junior category, which celebrates films made by young people for their peers and children. The festival will take place from April 21 to April 27.
