A trio of designers and calligraphers are coming from The Netherlands to run a two week typography workshop starting May 5.

The de Boer Brothers, Guido and Vincent, and Hans Schuttenbeld will be visiting Armenia for the first time to guide Tumo students on creating a calligraphy alphabet in English. Students will initially study the basics of analogue typography as a form of design in itself. They will then study different aspects of all letterforms focusing on style and readability, with the aim of having an attractive and clear overall design by the end of the workshop.

Founder of vormplatform.com Guido, Utrecht School of Arts graphic design student Hans and co-founder of Studio Airport Vincent will also guide students in taking their work further by digitalizing it in Adobe Illustrator.

By the end of the workshop, students will be equipped with typography skills that they can then apply to Armenian fonts in their future design work.
