It's been four days since Soul Street Dance hip-hop performers are messing around at Tumo. They are the special guests of the Unlimited Hip-Hop competition organized by Tumo in partnership with the US Embassy in Armenia. The American hip-hop dancers, together with local choreographers, spent the weekend selecting the best Armenian dancers.
Auditions took place in Yerevan on May 23, and were held again the next day in Vayk and Charentsavan. Out of the 84 participants the jury chose 19 dancers, who were invited to take part in master-classes offered by the Soul Street Dance and prepare for the big gala performance on May 28 at Tumo Plaza. Starting from 8 pm, the American dancers' performance will include local participants, accompanied by hip-hop music created and performed by a group of Tumo students. In July, the winners will join their counterparts in Batumi, Georgia and join efforts in a regional dance performance.
