Yesterday marked the end of an intensive two week advanced level robotics workshops conducted by LEGO Mindstorms expert Josep Fargas from Barcelona.

Workshop participants added sophisticated components to robots during the two week course. They created and programmed robots for five different projects which were presented to the public, parents and Tumo members yesterday. The five presentations showed the robots each programmed to do different things. Robots made their way through a labyrinth, solved color puzzles, communicated with Android devices, were controlled with the Arduino platform and interacted with human movements through Google glass.

Tumo first initiated a robotics workshop to encourage students' passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics using LEGO technology in 2012. Since then, students have had the opportunity to complete three levels of workshops in robotics where they have progressed from understanding the basic concepts of robotics to using their theoretical knowledge to build an actual robot and, most recently, adding artificial intelligence components to them.

Josep Fargas will be returning to Yerevan for future workshops at Tumo.
