Starting on September 29th, Art director and concept artist Arman Akopian will lead a two week workshop on the role of concept art in the video game production industry. Participants will learn how to research, explore, advance, communicate and hope (REACH) through concept art.

Students will explore different techniques and methods of creating production ready concepts on the theme of Armenian folklore. Throughout the workshop students will gain a basic understanding of image making, storytelling and reference and resource gathering. By the end of the workshop, students will have created character and environment concepts using Adobe Photoshop and Autodesk 3ds Max.

Arman's work ranges from creating concepts for magazines and game packaging covers, to promotional key art, and fantasy and sci-fi book covers. His work can be seen in Game Informer, PC GamerImagine FX and Square Enix. He is currently a senior concept artist and illustrator at Ubisoft.
