Yesterday, over a hundred people came to celebrate International Animation Day at Tumo. In parallel with the ReAnimania International Animation Film Festival, Tumo hosted an exciting series of events for the second year running for Tumo students and the general public.

Gary Schwartz kicked off the afternoon with "Schwartz Shortz" which included a hands-on demonstration of how to create a basic stop-motion animation using paper and objects and how to use a zoetrope to turn a sequence of images into an animation. The session concluded with an informal talk with the award winning animator and a display of work produced by young people during the afternoon. This was followed by a screening of Disney's "Arjun: The Warrior Prince" and a conversation with the director Arnab Chaudhuri at Tumo Cinema. The audience asked Chaudhuri questions ranging from the inspiration behind "Arjun" to animation techniques and use of software.
