The International Film Festival for Children and Youth announced its 2013 award winners today.

Tumo students serving on the animation jury revealed their picks as part of the closing ceremony.

The Children's Prize for best animated short film went to The Immortal (Russia), while Raven the Little Rascal (Germany) took home the pick for best full length animated film.

Since 2001, the Rolan Bykov Foundation has been organizing the children's film festival in Yerevan and surrounding regions of Armenia. This year, Tumo partnered with the foundation to host the animation category of the competition and had eleven of its students serve on the children's jury.

After watching screenings of all 14 featured animation films, the teenage judges discussed the merits of each nominee and submitted their final votes.  An adult jury of three animation professionals from Ukraine, Georgia and Switzerland also made its own selection of winners in the categories.

In addition to the screenings, a special Master Class by animation specialist Gia Kereselidze and a presentation of director Garri Bardin's work was hosted at Tumo as part of the festival. Read more>>
