The entire film series of "Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman" is being screened as part of Tumo's Cinemateque project during the whole month of June. The Zatoichi films make up the longest-running action series in Japanese history. The main character is a charismatic, blind masseur and lightning-fast swordsman who is considered to be one of the greatest screen heroes in Japan.

Tumo's Cinemateque regularly screens world-renowned cinematographers' works and popular contemporary movies. Filmmaking is one of Tumo's four main focus areas, and members are provided with the opportunity to regularly watch important films as part of the educational program. This month, larger than life Zatoichi is filling the Tumo Cinema screen through this 25 part film series.
