On July 3rd, Biayna Bogosian gave a public lecture entitled "Algorithmic Design: Responding to Environmental Data Patterns" to an audience of architects, designers and Tumo members. Biayna is a founding partner of Somewhere Something, a studio focused on data driven virtual and built environment.

Biayna started her presentation by pointing out that contemporary digital design practice is in a state of rapid evolution. She spoke of the importance of the in-depth study of data patterns in the living world as the basis of emerging, dynamic design solutions. She focused on her research in converging disparate computational platforms into complex algorithmic design workflows. She also expanded on her own use of algorithmic design methodology in generating architectural forms for commercial and residential building projects and to derive abstract shapes in works of art.
