This summer, over 100 young people from different corners of the world took part in Camp Tumo. The preparations for the summer camp started with a fundraising campaign, in collaboration with the British Embassy in Armenia, to get sponsorship for young people from rural areas to take part in the summer camp. A total of 74 students from villages throughout Armenia gained sponsorship from the campaign and participated in hands-on learning in robotics, computer programming, 3D modeling, animation, game development, music and filmmaking. Campers also took part in Spanish Lego Mindstorms expert Josep Fargas's advanced two day robotics workshop.

In addition to the workshops, participants had the opportunity to travel around Armenia and take part in complementary activities, including sport and tours around Yerevan to gather material for their digital media projects. At the end of each week, participants presented their achievements to the other campers and demonstrated what they had learned in their respective workshops. Now in its second year of operation, Camp Tumo has hosted campers from a number of countries, including the United States, Greece, Spain and Russia.

A dedicated team of volunteers supported Tumo staff and the campers, making the Camp Tumo experience even more exciting and fun. Find out more information about volunteering at Tumo here.
