For two weeks in December and March, and for a month in June, architect and computational designer Biayna Bogosian will be back at Tumo to lead a workshop entitled "Playgrounds".

Playgrounds will introduce participants to computational design thinking and various scripting and fabrication techniques to encourage them to propose creative solutions for temporary usage of public spaces. It is an urban game which offers the players an opportunity to co-create interactive public spaces. Playgrounds is made of portable and configurable furniture modules which explore the concept of interactivity in both a physical and a digital sense. It will encourage the users to interact with the spaces themselves by arranging the provided mobile furniture into various configurations which best accommodate the required functions.

Biayna Bogosian holds a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Woodbury University. She is a founding partner of Somewhere Something, a studio focused on data driven virtual and built environments. She has collaborated with numerous offices in Los Angeles and New York, and has taught digital media seminars and design studios at Columbia University, USC School of Architecture, Woodbury University and Tongji University.
