On February 1, NASA JPL Mechanical Engineer Armen Toorian lectured dozens of Tumo students on the inner workings of the Mars Science Lab mission and the Curiosity rover's long journey to Mars since summer 2012. Toorian's talk was a first in that he Skyped in from Los Angeles, taking not only questions from Tumo students about his experience working on Curiosity, but also invitations to lead a workshop in person on the Tumo campus.


Curiosity, NASA's Newest Martian Explorer, is the most scientifically equipped 1-ton rover, capable of autonomous exploration and scientific study of an alien planet  millions of miles away from earth.
