A new session of a 2D workshop which teaches students the basics of graphic design through classic art is currently in full swing at Tumo.

Students start by researching the Renaissance and pick a work of art from that period which they reinterpret based on their own contemporary perspective. They then produce a 2D visual work which reflects a novel approach to the classic work of art.

Workshop leader Taline Jivanian encourages participants to learn from historic precedents and use them as a basis for developing their own visual message and style. Throughout the workshop she works with students to introduce them to tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator and basic graphic design concepts. Each final piece is a reflection of the students’ vision and newly acquired skills.
