On Friday, November 1, as part of the American Film Showcase 2013, Tumo will host a retrospective of the films of renowned artists Jay Rosenblatt.


The director will be present at the screenings to discuss his work and career with the audience.

 

His films include Human Remains, a Sundance Award winning short documentary about the personal lives of famous dictators, Nine Lives, in which a cat dreams of her past lives, and Beginning Filmmaking which chronicles one year of trying to teach a four year old child how to make a film.

 

Jay Rosenblatt is internationally recognized as an independent filmmaker, having completed over 25 films since the start of his career in 1980. His films have received over 100 awards and have been screened worldwide. He is also a film and video production instructor at top educational institutions, including Stanford University and the San Francisco Art Institute.
