An ensemble of Tumo students began recording their first musical tracks today as part of the Levels of Sound project.
The session featured melodic vocals and live instrumentation produced by over 25 participants.
The project is led by Arik Grigoryan of the popular folk-rock band Bambir and features an innovative mix of improvised vocals and traditional folk rhythms. Students explore the foundations of music and learn how to mix digital technology with live sounds.
Using the latest in quality sound recording equipment, the group will record six of their original tracks in Tumo’s new music studio.
