Emmy award winning writer and editor Dickran Manoogian will lead "The Art of Editing" workshop at Tumo from July 19th to August 10th. The workshop is for budding editors, directors and producers who want to acquire an understanding of pacing, transition, cuts and continuity to create seamless stories. The course will cover various editing styles and techniques used to edit scenes.


The three week intensive workshop will teach students core skills, workflow and concepts involved in nonlinear editing on Adobe Premiere Pro. In addition to an introduction to basic editing techniques including trimming and fine-tuning video and audio, students will be taught how to organize source materials. They will also learn how to gradually refine hours of raw footage into a clear and compelling final product, bringing out the essence of the story. Participants will manage their own projects and media relations.


Dickran Manoogian is an Emmy award winning writer and editor with over twenty years of experience. Manoogian's versatile style ranges from high-energy reality cable and sports television, to thoughtful, contemplative PBS programming. He has written and edited gripping and engaging stories for broadcast, cable and digital distribution in the United States for channels including PBS, ABC, Discovery, History Channel, and National Geographic.
