This week, architect and computational designer Biayna Bogosian arrived in Armenia and began workshops at Tumo. Tumo members, architecture school students and young professionals are participating in two levels of workshops. Both groups have begun creating examples of parametric design using Rhino and Grasshopper software.

In addition to learning how to master Rhino and Grasshopper, beginning level students will create lego-like modular 3D models, which can then be fitted together to make larger models. The advanced group will initially create stand-alone 3D models of rows of buildings in Yerevan to be combined into a full model of a section of central Yerevan. Following the completion of the workshops, participants will print their work using Tumo's 3D printers and the projects will be showcased in a public exhibition.

Biayna Bogosian holds a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Woodbury University. She is a founding partner of Somewhere Something, a studio focused on data driven virtual and built environments. She has collaborated with numerous offices in Los Angeles and New York, and has taught digital media seminars and design studios at Columbia University, USC School of Architecture, Woodbury University and Tongji University.
