Following the successful Tumography contest in May, Tumo launched its first animation competition this month. Animation has been one of the most popular learning targets here at Tumo. Alongside our permanent animation workshop, Tumo has hosted many workshops and meetings with well-known specialists from Armenia and all over the world, including French animator Atam Rasho, Serge Avedikian and most recently Liz Artinian. Tumo students have even taken part and won a prize in a festival organized by ReAnimania international animation film festival and Converse Bank.

The Animation contest launches today and is open to all Tumo students. The entry can be a maximum of 15 seconds long and is on the theme of a character tasting something delicious or disgusting. Entries will be judged based on the quality of animation, which includes good use of timing and spacing, a strong sense of weight, flexibility, believability and appeal. The winning students will receive a hardcover copy of “The Art of Frozen” by Charles Solomon.

Tumo will be hosting more specialists throughout the year, including Pixar character animation artist Zaruhi Galstyan, 3D animation artist Rosaline Babayan and Arnab Chaudhuri and the director of “Arjun: The Warrior Prince”.
