Last week, visual artist Katharina Roters kicked off her month long architectural photography workshop at Tumo. 15 advanced photography students are participating in the workshop, focusing on how urban architecture continues to shape people's lifestyles.

Participants will learn the practice of architectural photography by exploring Soviet architecture and other special sites in and around Yerevan. They will have the chance to work on digital post-production with local architects and urban design professionals. Currently, students are working alongside art critic Ruben Arevshatyan.

Katharina Roters graduated with a fine arts degree from the Kunstakademie Dusseldorf and earned her doctorate at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest. Roter's Hungarian Cube series, photographs documenting Communist-era houses in Hungary, was recently featured on CNN style.
