Students are completing the first round of Tumo's Websites Creation course this week, one of the collection of workshops that make up the fall 2013 lineup launched in October.
Students who were interested in web design and development but didn't know where to begin were given a chance to start from the basics in this month-long accelerated web development course. The workshop covers everything from being able to analyze the source code that defines a web page to creating a website from scratch.
Participants in the Website Creation workshop are introduced to HTML and acquire the essential coding skills needed for building web pages. They learn about fonts, color, spacing and modular composition in order to create a consistent style within a website. They are also introduced to the essentials of designing with style sheets, using CSS to bring functionality and appearance together on web pages.
