Eisenstein screenings at Tumo

From January 20 to January 30, Tumo's cinema will screen the films of one of the greatest film directors and editors of the 20th century, Sergei Eisenstein. Tumo members will have the opportunity to watch well-known classical works such as "Strike," "October: Ten Days that Shook the World," "The Battleship Potemkin," and all three parts of "Ivan the Terrible."

Tumo's Cinemateque project regularly screens outstanding cinematographers' works and popular contemporary movies. Filmmaking is one of Tumo's four main focus areas, and members are expected to regularly watch important films as part of the educational program. Stanley Kubrick, Francis Ford Coppola, and Akira Kurosawa films were screened in 2013, and Tumo recently commemorated Sergei Parajanov's 90th anniversary by showing a number of his iconic films. In December, the Cinemateque screened documentary films about Maria Callas on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of her birth.
